• Perform scientific analysis of semiconductor based photonic devices including design of testing methods and techniques
• Set up test equipment and programming for automation and data management
• Perform scientific analysis of experimental results and production data
• Perform RF design, bit error rate testing, microwave circuit analysis, as well as characterization of semiconductor lasers and other photonic components as required
• Using commercial or in-house software, perform microwave circuit design
• Design, operate and maintain automated RF test stations
• Provide analysis of system link penalties and performances for fiber optic communication systems
• Perform product electrical test result validation
• Test and analysis of customer returned products
• Operate, set-up, and maintain component test equipment including optical spectrum analyzers, electrical spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, relative intensity noise analyzers, bit error rate test generator/receivers, high speed oscilloscopes, power meters, high speed pulse generators, variable attenuators, optical switches, optical isolators, optical couplers, multimeters, and translation stages

Requirements:

• Master’s degree or equivalent with significant electronics experience
• Use of optical measurement equipment including OSA, power meter, integrating sphere, and photodiodes
• Use of electrical measurement equipment including current, voltage, and power meters
• Experience with LabView/GPIB software and systems.
• MS Office experience, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Access
• Motion control and automation experience a plus
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
